Project Description

Sam Farm Projects CC is contracted to provide a wide range of services aimed at improving agricultural productivity and ensuring sustainable farming practices for the Client. The scope of services includes:

1. Agronomic Services:
- 1.1. Conduct comprehensive agronomic assessments of small agricultural businesses funded by the Client.
- 1.2. Provide tailored agronomic recommendations and strategies to optimize crop yields, improve soil health, and enhance agricultural productivity.
- 1.3. Offer guidance on crop and/or variety selection, planting techniques, irrigation methods, pest and disease management, and fertilizer application based on local soil and climatic conditions.
- 1.4. Monitor crop performance and provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure the successful implementation of agronomic practices.
2. Risk Assessments:
- 2.1. Conduct thorough risk assessments of the agricultural operations funded by the Client.
- 2.2. Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities related to factors such as climate variability, market fluctuations, pest and disease outbreaks, and operational challenges.
- 2.3. Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize the impact of adverse events and ensure the resilience of the agricultural businesses.
- 2.4. Provide regular updates and reports on risk assessments findings and recommendations to the Client.
3. Training of Beneficiaries:
- 3.1. Design and deliver customized training programs to educate beneficiaries on best practices in agricultural production, management, and business operations.
- 3.2. Conduct hands-on training sessions covering topics such as Local GAP compliance, crop cultivation, effective management of greenhouse or poly house tunnels, post-harvest handling, record keeping, and marketing strategies.
- 3.3. Provide training materials, manuals, and resources to support the learning process and empower beneficiaries with practical skills and knowledge.
- 3.4. Offer ongoing mentoring and support to assist beneficiaries in implementing the training outcomes and overcoming operational challenges.

Project Description

Kanono Women Association (KWA), is an association of women located in Katima Mulilo which recently secured funding amounting to N$ 2 million from the Environmental Investment Fund to establish a sunflower plantation of 20 hectares under drip irrigation and to develop a small-scale oil processing plant.

Farm Description

Pombili Farm is a farm owned by a Namibian situated in the Kavango West region, located 20 km away from Mpungu Village. The farm has a total hectare of 2500 hectares and specializes in vegetable production, goat, sheep and cattle rearing for selling and for meat production.
